Title: Manufacturing Engineer III ( Engineer - Mfg/Process/Industrial III)

Duration: 1-3 Month+

Job Description:

Applies standard engineering methods to design, develop, and implement new or revised manufacturing & production processes for the efficient/economical production of aerospace products. Responsible for integration of design requirements into processes and procedures through research and development of manufacturing methods, tooling and equipment, facilities, and systems to produce a quality product. Leads planning and development of engineering artifacts to enable the turning of raw materials into finished and discrete products that satisfy design/system requirements. Provides guidance to design engineering on technical specifications that will best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensuring that production processes and procedures are in compliance with contract specifications and applicable regulations.

General Responsibilities:
  1. Develop manufacturing work instructions to clearly define the following manufacturing processes: fabrication, assembly, and integration.
  1. Manage quality, build sequence, and schedule for hardware manufacturing processes.
  1. Perform engineering drawing impact assessments.
  1. Disposition non-conformance repair and rework activities.
  1. Support the manufacturing floor in assembly and installation, compliance to engineering requirements, discrepancy resolution, and component acceptance testing.
  1. Investigate root causes, disposition vehicle discrepancies, and take ownership of preventative and corrective actions.


Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
  1. 7 or more years direct manufacturing and manufacturing engineering experience.
  1. Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including solid understanding of GD&T.
  1. Proficiency in business and engineering software (CAD, PLM, Scheduling, MSOffice, Windchill, etc).
  1. Ability to develop processes compliant to industry quality systems such as AS9100.
  1. Attentive and responsive with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  1. A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with teams of diverse skills across large geographic distances.
  1. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  1. Must be physically able to: support production floor activities; climb stairs and work in small areas


Desired:
  1. Aerospace/Launch vehicle experience.
  1. Broad experience in hardware manufacturing: welding, assembly, integration, instrumentation, cleaning, packaging, fabrication, machining, etc.
  1. Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems/Software and processes
  1. Knowledge of fabrication processes, integration processes, and configuration management systems
  1. Understanding and applied experiences in Lean Manufacturing
  1. Familiar with applicable industry standards


Shift:
  1. Typically - Regular A Shift (Monday through Friday)
