About the role

Provides Manufacturing Engineering support to ensure the timely production of quality, cost effective parts and assemblies. Perform continuous operational improvement that supports the goals and objectives of cost savings for the business unit including cost reduction and quality improvement activities.

Responsibilities

    \n
  • Develop equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis and proposals for integrating machinery and equipment such as automated machinery equipment into manufacturing processes.
  • \n
  • Responsible for the transition of assigned products from development into production and assuring that manufacturing processes for product meet expectations regarding product cycle times, quality levels and costs.
  • \n
  • Develop manufacturing processes for new products & validate the processes by performing PILOT runs.
  • \n
  • Responsible to define and maintain end of line product testing and equipment. Establish product test set-ups that ensure accurate test results. Ability to problem solve issues related to product testing and implement solutions.
  • \n
  • Provide engineering assistance to production and manufacturing teams to solve problems related to the process.
  • \n
  • Provide assembly support in technical matters relating to assembly drawings, interpretation, engineering change notices, rework manufacturing process
  • \n
  • Contribute on new product teams to bring product to the market in a timely manner while assuring quality and manufacturability of process and product.
  • \n
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • \n
  • Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining Routings and Labor Standards.
  • \n
  • Analyzes and recommends product design changes including packaging design for ease of manufacturing, cost reduction and quality improvement.
  • \n
  • Support development of required documentation such as Method Sheet, operator training, demonstrating documenting process capability and transitioning products from development to production per required ISO standards.
  • \n
  • Responsible to design and implement the overall Lean program roadmap - driving Lean thinking and process improvement across the organization.
  • \n
  • Coordinates and leads all Lean Manufacturing Activities within the location including kaizen events, projects and any other activity to improve and further lean efforts and ensure contribute to the development and execution of Lean Transformation plan.

  • Perform Cost/Benefit analysis for new and improved processes and/or products and cost reduction projects
  • \n
  • Estimates production times, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • \n

Qualifications

    \n
  • Must have the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite; ability to use Excel for cost analysis
  • \n
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers to define specific product opportunities and associated key product requirements.
  • \n
  • Ability to coordinate and facilitate discussions regarding the design, development, and introduction of products to meet customer requirements.
  • \n
  • Ability to gather input from production personnel through team implementation of process improvements on the production floor.
  • \n
  • Ability to perform time-studies or work flow analysis
  • \n
  • Knowledge of fiber optics preferred
  • \n
  • Software knowledge preferred; MS Team Foundation Server, MS .NET Framework, ASP.NET, C# programming, IIS (Internet Information Services), MS SQL Server, Windows Server, Windows 10
  • \n
  • Experience using quality tools, such as, but not limited to, statistical process control and process failure modes effects analysis.
  • \n

Education & Experience

    \n
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Industrial/ Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering required
  • \n
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience in Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering
  • \n
  • Training in LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma preferred
  • \n

Pay Range

($75,000 - $95,000 per year)
