Job Details
Title: Process Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC
Role Description
This position is for a full-time, on-site Process Engineer at our Charlotte, NC location. The Process Engineer will be tasked with optimizing production processes, ensuring product quality, and spearheading continuous improvement efforts to boost efficiency and competitiveness by up-to-date tools.
How will you do it?
- Process Optimization: Continuously monitor and analyze the extrusion process parameters such as temperature, pressure, speed, and material flow to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvement.
- Troubleshooting: Investigate and troubleshoot any problems or defects in the process, such as material inconsistencies, or equipment malfunctions, and implement corrective actions to address them.
- New Product Development: Work closely with product development teams to develop and test new products, including conducting trials, adjusting process parameters, and providing feedback on feasibility and manufacturability.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of process parameters, production data, and quality control metrics, and generate reports to track performance, identify trends, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Lean / Six Sigma experience
- Experience in process engineering and chemical engineering
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Understanding of quality control principles
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Bachelor s degree in chemical engineering or related field
- Experience in the masterbatches industry is a plus
