Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain SAP material master data.
  • Knowledge of SAP tables and relational database management system.
  • Ensure master data integrity.
  • Define, create and maintain procedures, metrics, and reporting tools to ensure material master data accuracy.
  • Identify areas for data quality improvements and help resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies.
  • Ensure quality of master data in key systems.
  • Develop and document processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity.
  • In collaboration with subject matter experts and data stewards, define and implement data strategy, policies, controls, and programs to ensure the enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable.
  • Provide assistance in resolving data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies in collaboration with subject matter experts and data stewards.
  • Manage, analyze, and resolve data initiative issues and manage revisions needed to best meet internal and customer requirements while adhering to published data standards.
  • Work closely with the business to ensure alignment of master data rules meets all requirements.
  • Conduct data cleansing to rid the system of old, unused data, or duplicate data for better management and quicker access.
  • During integration activities, facilitate material master data cleansing and set up.
  • Conduct data analysis using MS Excel and MS Access.
  • Create, maintain, and update workflows and applications using knowledge of SQL Server and SQL Query.
  • Current workflows are for material master requests, capital expenditure requests, and new vendor requests.
  • Current applications are quality database for in process sampling and testing, time tracker database for Gonzales R&D, mining database for Gonzales mining, and purchase order database for Gonzales maintenance.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Materials Management, or related field
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in SAP Master Data, primarily in Materials Management subject area
  • Technical and business process knowledge in SAP is required
  • Hands on experience in the implementation of SAP Material master
  • Understanding of working on global projects
  • Experience of using mass data load tools
  • Experience in using workflow tools
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Some experience in project management is preferable
  • Position Competencies (include behavioral characteristics and leadership capabilities)
  • Good communication skills (written and oral)
  • Analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Accuracy in data entry and checking
  • Excellent SQL Server technical abilities
  • Ability to create and maintain multiple SQL Server and SQL Query databases
  • Access database proficiency
