Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide expert support for plumbing, HVAC, and HVAC control systems across multiple facilities. This role will develop and enforce mechanical design standards, improve energy performance, and support cross-functional teams throughout design, construction, commissioning, and operations.

The Mechanical Engineer will serve as the internal subject matter expert, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency for all mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain mechanical design standards for plumbing, HVAC, and control systems.
• Collaborate with external design consultants to maintain consistent mechanical system designs across multiple firms.
• Conduct quality control reviews of drawings and construction documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Develop and maintain commissioning standards in partnership with third-party consultants.
• Perform on-site system evaluations and troubleshooting for existing facilities.
• Work with Architecture, Construction, and Operations teams to deliver integrated mechanical solutions.
• Create and analyze energy models to recommend energy-saving strategies.
• Support mechanical equipment procurement and installation processes.
• Provide construction administration support, including responding to RFIs and conducting field observations.
• Ensure operational standards are followed and identify areas for improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC Design
• 7 10 years of experience designing mechanical systems, including multiple HVAC types
• Experience with commissioning processes and energy standards
• Ability to perform site investigations, including accessing roofs and ceiling spaces
• Strong familiarity with mechanical codes and industry standards
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical team
