Title: Mechanical Engineer I
Location: Belmont, CA 100% Onsite
Duration: 12+ Months
Pay Range: $55/hr $58/hr
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to join our team in Belmont, CA. This role focuses on the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems for cutting-edge medical device products. The ideal candidate will bring strong CAD skills, hands-on test experience, and a solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design mechanical components, sub-systems, prototypes, or complete functional systems for medical device, scientific, or technical applications.
  • Apply intermediate-level engineering principles and manufacturing practices to solve problems related to assigned projects.
  • Develop and execute test protocols for components and devices, including prototype testing and design verification.
  • Create and manage detailed product drawings using CAD software.
  • Design test fixtures and systems, author protocols, and perform Gauge R&R and test method validation activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    • BS in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience, or
    • MS in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience (Hiring manager prefers a Bachelor's degree with more experience)
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Strong proficiency in Creo (preferred), SolidWorks, or other 3D CAD software.
    • Hands-on experience with fixture/test systems design, test method development, and test method validation for design verification testing.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

  • 1 2 years of experience in the medical device industry, preferably with Class II or Class III medical devices.
  • Experience with injection molded and/or machined component design.
  • Familiarity with the design of small assemblies and tolerance analysis.
