Title: Mechanical Engineer IV
Location: Redmond, WA (hybrid)
Duration: 12+ month contract
Compensation: 68.00 - 72.00/hr.

Help shape the reliability of next-generation wearable hardware. As a Mechanical Test Engineer, you'll design unique tests and custom fixtures that simulate how devices interact with the human body. Your work will directly impact how these prototypes perform in the real world, ensuring durability, comfort, and performance in consumer-ready products.
THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU
- Own mechanical verification for new body-worn devices.
- Use CAD (NX preferred, SolidWorks acceptable) to design custom fixtures and scalable test setups.
- Define and execute tests focused on mechanical stress and thermal performance.
- Critically evaluate mechanical forces and failure modes, and invent new test methodologies tailored to wearable hardware.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to translate design requirements into testable setups.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
- 5+ years in mechanical verification for consumer electronic or electro-mechanical devices.
- Knowledge of kinematics / human body mechanics.
- Strong fundamentals in mechanical stress and thermal testing.
- CAD proficiency (NX or SolidWorks).
- Hands-on experience designing custom test fixtures.
- Ability to think critically about unique, non-standard tests.
NICE TO HAVES
- Familiarity with automation or instrumentation integration.
- Python/Matlab for automation or analysis.
- Exposure to tensile testing systems (Instron or similar).
