Job Details

The MongoDB Architect/Engineer will support a major migration from MarkLogic to MongoDB, working on data modeling, development, ETL/ELT, and cloud integration. Role involves building, optimizing, and maintaining MongoDB workloads while collaborating with migration and engineering teams to ensure data integrity, performance, and secure data delivery.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design optimized MongoDB schemas and data models
  • Build complex queries, aggregations, indexes, and performance tuning
  • Implement replication, sharding, HA, and scalability
  • Develop migration scripts, ETL/ELT pipelines, and microservices
  • Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance (PHI/PII/PCI)
  • Support cloud migration (AWS or Google Cloud Platform)
  • Work closely with MarkLogic datasets and healthcare data (preferred)

Technical Stack

  • MongoDB: Schema design, aggregation pipelines, indexing, replication, sharding, MongoDB Atlas, shell/tools (dump/restore/import/export), Compass
  • Programming: Python, JavaScript, Spring Boot, Microservices
  • ETL/ELT: ETL tools & pipelines (any)
  • Cloud: AWS or Google Cloud Platform (cloud migration strategies)
  • Relational DBs: SQL, schema design, import/export
  • Security: Auth, encryption (at-rest/in-transit), healthcare data security standards
  • Plus (Highly Desired): MarkLogic, XQuery, Healthcare domain experience
