Network Administrator

Location: Thornton, CO (near Denver)

Employment Type: Full-time, Onsite

Target Salary Range: $85,000 $100,000 (based on experience)

Overview

We're seeking an experienced Network Administrator to join our IT team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and securing the organization s network infrastructure. The ideal candidate has a strong background in networking, server management, cybersecurity, and end-user support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot internal networks, servers, VPNs, routers, and related hardware/software.
  • Provide Tier III support for help desk tickets and complex network issues.
  • Maintain stable connectivity and ensure proper user access across all systems.
  • Ensure strong security practices in collaboration with the SOC team, including user accessibility, MFA, and firewall protections.
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor disaster recovery procedures.
  • Assist in planning future network strategies, budgets, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for network systems and processes.
  • Provide project management support and propose IT improvements that increase organizational value.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in network administration or related IT roles.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, troubleshooting, and infrastructure continuity practices.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, and PowerShell.
  • Proficiency with VMWare, Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Windows Server, and firewall technologies.
  • Experience with server monitoring and management tools.
  • Strong communication skills for supporting end users and collaborating with leadership.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with VPN and MFA technologies.
  • Hands-on with Fortinet Firewalls/Access Points, Mimecast, and LANSweeper.
  • Familiarity with Synology appliances, backup applications, and SAN/storage solutions (EMC or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of Cisco, Dell, or Unifi switches.
  • MS SQL experience a plus.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CCNA, or CCNP.
  • Familiarity with CMMC and NIST security standards.

Work Environment & Expectations:

Primarily onsite role with potential for up to 30% travel for projects and routine site visits.

Typical schedule: Monday Friday, day shift, with additional hours or weekend work as needed.

Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, sit, lift light to moderate items, and occasionally work near mechanical/electrical equipment.
