Job Title: Network Engineer
Work Location: Las Vegas, NV (Hybrid Onsite)
Position Type: Contract to Hire (6 months)
Hourly Rate: Starting at $55 - $60 / hour
Full Time Conversion Salary - Starting at $115,000 - $120,000 / year
ABOUT OUR CLIENT / ABOUT THIS ROLE
Medix is currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a contract to hire opportunity with one of our national Healthcare Services clients, with a data center located in Las Vegas. This individual will be joining a team focused on enterprise Network Migrations onto new Next Generation equipment - including Palo Alto / Panorama Next Generation Firewalls, and SD-WAN. We are seeking individuals who have a minimum of 5-7 years working experience, and who have hands-on implementation, configuration and support for Palo Alto products and VPNs, with secondary expertise in Routing and Switching.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- This role is onsite in Las Vegas - 3-4 times / week.
- This role will be supporting network migration / deployment projects and enterprise operations across the organization.
- Receiving and shipping network hardware out of the Vegas data center location
- Day to day will primarily be focused on Network Configuration and Deployment (75%) with some troubleshooting and support (~25%)
- A major project includes enterprise-wide data center migration projects, which will include implementing new PaloAlto Next-Generation Firewalls with Panorama Management.
- Core responsibilities will be to configure the Palo Alto firewall, VPNs and Switch configurations for deployment at new sites.
- This individual will be tasked with understanding architecture designs, ordering equipment, tracking shipments, and ensuring timely delivery for installation.
- Strong SD-WAN experience is a plus - another major project will include implementing Prisma SD-WAN
- This individual will also be Implementing, configuring and supporting Cisco Data Center Switches (Nexus)
- This role is an Engineer-level, but will be called on to support lower-level areas such as hardware replacements, patching and cabling, as needed
- This role will also be providing technical troubleshooting and support for connectivity issues within the AWS and Azure multi-cloud environment
- This individual is responsible for using monitoring tools (ie, Solarwinds) for monitoring and assessing network performance, as well as ticketing tools (ServiceNow) to stay on top of issues.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Local to Las Vegas / Willing to work onsite
- 5-7+ years of professional experience
- Network Certifications (Cisco CCNA, DevNet Certification, or PCNSA) are preferred
- Strong hands-on experience with PaloAlto Next Generation Firewalls and Panorama
- Cisco Nexus Switches and VLAN configuration
- Experience with SD-WAN technologies highly preferred
- AWS or Azure Cloud experience preferred
