Position Title: Windows System Administrator (Rapid Response)
Location: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO
Relocation Assistance: None available at this time

Travel Required: Up to 10% of the time
This position has a requirement to provide occasional evening, holiday and/or weekend support as directed by the government customer to meet mission objectives. This support may be required with short or no notice.
This support will consist of onsite administrative activities, including hardware maintenance, software installation, troubleshooting efforts, and other actions required to meet the mission.
This position comes with a higher level of compensation (provided as a $6000 quarterly stipend) based on the flexibility required.
Description of Duties:
The Network Engineer (Rapid Response) supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
Ensure system changes are completed in accordance with developer documentation, configuration management and documentation practices
Be responsible for daily hands-on operating and maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and testing of C2BMC networks.
Configure, install, test, and sustain IT network and boundary protection devices and systems.
Be able to perform technical validation of network designs in accordance with industry best practices and DoD policies and guidelines.
Perform data collection and validation of network services and devices.
Assist integration managers in problem definition and root cause analysis as needed
Provide timely updates to appropriate team leads, managers and stakeholders on status of tasks and troubleshooting efforts
Make recommendations to plan, develop and execute work plans that achieve critical-path requirements
Use REMEDY ticketing system to report, track and document problems and resolution life-cycle actions on faulty systems

Basic Requirements:
Must have 7 years of directly related experience in Internet Protocols (e.g. DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSL); Multiple network types (i.e. LAN, WAN, VLAN, SDN); and/or managing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Telecommunications infrastructures
Must have 1 year of experience in management or leadership
Must have experience in firewall configuration and troubleshooting
Must have experience with IP addressing, subnetting, and NAT
Must have experience with Cisco or Juniper routers, switches, firewalls
Must have experience configuring OSPF, SNMP, Syslog, VRF, and network timing systems
Knowledge of Missile Defense, DoD communications systems and MDIOC operations
Must have a current DoD approved 8570 Level II certification such as Security+ CE
Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Desired Requirements:
Have experience with PIM, multicast, Type I encryption devices
Have a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA) certification
Have experience with network monitoring
Have experience with SolarWinds Orion network management software suite
Have experience with VMware virtual computing
Have experience with Microsoft Visio diagramming
Have an understanding of various development life cycles such as the Systems Engineering life cycle, ITIL, etc
Degree in an IT or Engineering related discipline
This position is expected to pay $115,000 - $125,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
