RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Salt Lake City, UT that is seeking a Network Engineer.

Summary:
Our client is seeking a seasoned Network Engineer with 7+ years of enterprise networking experience to join their Data Center Engineering team. This role blends hands-on engineering with some operational responsibilities, supporting enterprise-class networks, service provider technologies, and large-scale data center environments. The Network Engineer will help design, implement, and maintain critical infrastructure while also participating in an on-call rotation for production support.

Responsibilities:
* Configure, implement, and support enterprise networking technologies (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
* Support and maintain Cisco-based data center networks including spine-leaf VXLAN/EVPN topologies
* Troubleshoot network performance and connectivity issues using tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, etc.
* Perform upgrades, patches, and configuration changes to ensure system reliability and security
* Collaborate with peers and cross-functional teams to design and optimize network infrastructure
* Provide operational support, including on-call responsibilities one week every six weeks
* Act as a mentor to junior engineers and operations staff
* Interact with F5 load balancers/firewalls (support is handled by another group, but collaboration will be required)

REQUIREMENTS:
* 7+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering and operations
* Strong experience with Cisco routing, switching, and data center architectures
* Hands-on knowledge of Service Provider Networking Technologies: L3VPN, L2VPN, EVPN
* Proficiency in IP addressing (CIDR, IPv4, IPv6) and core protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP/IP, HSRP, DNS, QoS, VPN, SSL/TLS, etc.)
* Data center network experience with spine-leaf VXLAN EVPN topologies
* Strong troubleshooting and packet analysis skills
* Ability to support high-availability, scalable enterprise networks
* Excellent communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:
* Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
* CCNP or higher certification (or equivalent experience)
* Experience with enterprise Ethernet switching and large-scale, multi-protocol environments
* Prior financial services or regulated enterprise experience

Additional Details
* On-call rotation: Primary on-call duty one week every six weeks
* Location preference: Candidates in Utah are strongly preferred, but remote work is possible
* Contract-to-Hire: Initial 6-month contract with strong likelihood of conversion to full-time

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
