SAIC is seeking a talented Network Engineer Principal to join our team in support of the Tactical Network (TACNET) program, providing critical engineering support for PMW-160. This position is based ON-SITE at a major communications command in Norfolk, VA, focusing on the Automated Digital Networking System (ADNS) program.

JOB DUTIES:
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide installation and advanced technical support and troubleshooting for network systems, ensuring quick resolution of issues.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other engineering and support teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of network systems.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain thorough documentation and reports on network designs, modifications, and performance metrics.
- Ensure the system is operational and available within specified customer timeframes.
- Network Design and Maintenance: Design and maintain robust network infrastructures, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for communications.
- Evaluate and report on new network technologies to enhance network capabilities.
- Systems Analysis and Planning: Perform detailed network analysis and planning to support current and future communications needs.

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field, with nine (9) years of experience in Configuration Management and Network Administration in a Department of Defense (DoD) setting. Years of experience in lieu of degree will be taken into consideration.
- Must have a TS/SCI clearance to start.
- Security+ Certification (other higher level security certifications acceptable).
- Ability to obtain relevant OS/CE certification for Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) compliance (e.g., CCNA, Linux+) within 6 months of hire.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Hands-on experience with operating systems and network hardware related to ADNS and its supporting systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with Tactical Data Links, Military Communications, DoD Networks, Global Information Grid (GIG), Common Data Link (CDL), Link 16, and Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS).
- Windows and Linux system administration skills.
- Expertise in network routing & switching systems (e.g., switches, routers).
- Experience with TACLANES and other Communications Security (COMSEC) devices.
- Experience with Triton unmanned vehicle program.
- Knowledge in network defense systems (e.g., firewalls, IDS, IPS).
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent level of Cisco certification.
- Experience with Linux Red Hat versions 5, 6, 7, and 8.
- Experience in a VMware environment.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment within broadly defined practices and policies of military data communications.
