Roles & Responsibilities:
In this highly visible customer facing role as SVS CAP Validation Services / Customer Escalations (CE) Test Consulting Engineer (CE), you will:
- Heightened sense of urgency, and will require on-demand responsiveness. You may be assigned work activities at a moment’s notice.
- Engage with customers and other key stakeholders on successful planning and execution of validation/testing engagements.
- Drive test requirements discussions, analyze test requirements and build lab to support test requirements.
- Author and execute test plans and document test results for the supporting Cisco team and Customer.
- Support next generation Route and Switch, Data Center for Enterprise, and Service Provider customers to accelerate implementation of new platforms/solutions.
- Validate new or existing design solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Identify key issues and gaps and work with engineering and delivery teams to resolve them.
- Develop/integrate new technologies into lab environments.
- Collaborate with other engineers on various teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Desired Skills:
- Candidates must have deep technical expertise with Core Routing and Switching, Security tools such as Cisco ISE and Firepower, Wireless technology, Data Center technology and preferably Cloud technologies (optional).
- Candidates must be proficient in customer facing discussions as well as the technologies listed above.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years Routing and Switching hands-on work experience
- Strong knowledge of one or more of the following OS: NX-OS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR and IOS.
- Primary experience in the following products: SD-Access (SDA) and Cisco Catalyst Center (formally DNA Center)
- Experience desired in one or more of the following product areas: Security (Cisco ISE, Cisco Firepower), Wireless Technologies, Cisco SD-WAN, BGP, OSPF Routing, MPLS, LAN Switching, VPC, Data Center Technologies, Virtualization, ACI & VXLAN (both optional).
- Strong communication and customer facing skills (written/verbal)
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot complex network problems.
