Network Security Engineer
A fast-growing cybersecurity consulting firm is seeking a Network Security Engineer with deep expertise in both network engineering and security to strengthen enterprise infrastructure and threat defense operations. In this role, you'll design, implement, and secure network architectures while driving threat detection, analysis, and incident response. You'll partner closely with SOC teams and provide strategic guidance on security operations, tools, and network protocols.
The company is located in Washington D.C. and will be a hybrid model of 3 days onsite a week.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Architect and maintain secure network infrastructure and protocols.
- Monitor and analyze network traffic, leading threat detection and mitigation efforts.
- Provide expert guidance to SOC teams on network-related incidents.
- Leverage tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, Cisco Secure Web Appliances, CrowdStrike, Qualys, Cloudflare, and CyberArk.
- Mentor junior engineers and help shape the organization's network defense strategy.
- 5+ years of network engineering experience with a strong emphasis on security.
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CISSP, CEH, Security+, or Network+.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft security solutions and Cisco Secure Web Appliances.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
