Job Title: Network Service Engineer II

Job Location: Preferred local to Miami, FL / Dallas, TX (Open to remote for Central/Eastern time zone candidates)

Job Duration: 12+ Months Contract (another year extension very much likely)

Job Description:

Duties:

• Responsible for network design and planning, capacity management, vendor evaluation, activation and deactivation of customer services, troubleshooting and fault resolution of reported and detected faults.
• Performs effective maintenance to the equipment to prevent faults from occurring; procurement and installation of equipment for expansion and new services.
• Knowledge of DWDM based transport solutions and concepts required.
• In depth knowledge of SONET and SDH is required
• Understand the Optical Network Architecture
• Working knowledge of 1, 10 and 100Gbps Ethernet, SONET, SDH and OTN switching.
• Familiarity with the operation of Data Centers, POP and ILA sites.
• Must be able to understand and operate various networking tools and databases.
• Ability to work under pressure with a diverse team.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Understand space requirements, demarcation points and AC/DC power.
• Understand Optical Switch Protection
• Must be able to understand and operate various networking tools and databases.
• Working knowledge of different fiber type is required
• Knowledge of switching technologies (802.1Q, STP, RSTP, PVST+) is plus
• DWDM/optical certification a plus.
• Familiarity of Cisco, Infinera gears and Ciena ROADMs, COADMs and Wave servers, including commissioning, troubleshooting and provisioning of new circuits and services.
