Role: Network Smart Hands Engineer

Locations: Warren, NJ (Fully Onsite)

Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Job Overview:

  • The Network Smart Hands Support Technician will provide on-site technical assistance and support for network infrastructure.
  • This role involves troubleshooting, equipment handling, and performing basic network tasks under the guidance of remote engineering teams.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of networking principles and excellent communication skills.

Requirement:

  • Design, implement, and maintain Cisco-based LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure
  • Configure and manage Cisco routers, switches, wireless controllers, and access points
  • L3 Cisco Audio Video Support - WebEx , Premium Conference Room Support
  • Deploy and manage Palo Alto firewalls, including security policies, NAT, and threat prevention
  • Integrate and administer Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) for secure cloud-based connectivity
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex issues across data and wireless environments
  • Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance and resilience
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network architecture, configurations, and procedures
  • Provide Tier 3 support and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise network engineering
  • CCNP certification (Enterprise, Wireless, or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco wireless technologies (802.11 standards, WLCs, APs)
  • Strong knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP)
  • Proven experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama
  • Working knowledge of Zscaler cloud security solutions
  • Familiarity with VPNs, ACLs, and network segmentation
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Need to travel to multiple site for Site Device Refresh / Relocations

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Cisco DNA Center
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN and network automation (Python, Ansible)
  • Cloud networking experience (Azure, AWS)
  • ITIL or other service management frameworks
