Role: Network Smart Hands Engineer
Locations: Warren, NJ (Fully Onsite)
Duration: 12+ Months Contract
Job Overview:
- The Network Smart Hands Support Technician will provide on-site technical assistance and support for network infrastructure.
- This role involves troubleshooting, equipment handling, and performing basic network tasks under the guidance of remote engineering teams.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of networking principles and excellent communication skills.
Requirement:
- Design, implement, and maintain Cisco-based LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure
- Configure and manage Cisco routers, switches, wireless controllers, and access points
- L3 Cisco Audio Video Support - WebEx , Premium Conference Room Support
- Deploy and manage Palo Alto firewalls, including security policies, NAT, and threat prevention
- Integrate and administer Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) for secure cloud-based connectivity
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex issues across data and wireless environments
- Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance and resilience
- Maintain detailed documentation of network architecture, configurations, and procedures
- Provide Tier 3 support and mentorship to junior engineers
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise network engineering
- CCNP certification (Enterprise, Wireless, or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience with Cisco wireless technologies (802.11 standards, WLCs, APs)
- Strong knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP)
- Proven experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama
- Working knowledge of Zscaler cloud security solutions
- Familiarity with VPNs, ACLs, and network segmentation
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Need to travel to multiple site for Site Device Refresh / Relocations
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Cisco DNA Center
- Familiarity with SD-WAN and network automation (Python, Ansible)
- Cloud networking experience (Azure, AWS)
- ITIL or other service management frameworks
