Role Overview

The company and its heritage organizations have more than 50 years of business history in Alaska. As Alaskas largest oil and gas producer, it produced an average of 182 thousand barrels of oil and 9 million cubic feet of gas per day. With about 1,100 Alaska employees, the company holds major ownership interests in the Prudhoe Bay Unit, the Kuparuk River Unit, and the Colville River Unit (Alpine).

It operates the Kuparuk and Alpine oil fields, has an ownership interest in the Trans Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS), and owns/operates the Polar Tankers fleet.

Description

The primary role of the Network Technician is to provide day-to-day support, configuration, and maintenance of the LAN and WAN infrastructure. Additionally, the technician may also be called upon to support microwave and two-way radio systems. This role will interact with global peers on a regular basis to maintain alignment with corporate standards.

Your responsibilities may include:
  • Proactive participant in safety processes
  • Maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot existing Cisco LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and CallManager Infrastructure
  • Maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot the ICS (Industrial Control Systems) Network Infrastructure
  • Design new LAN and WAN Infrastructure as needed
  • Assist with cable plant (fiber/copper) design and maintenance
  • Utilize and maintain various network monitoring toolsets including SolarWinds Orion and LogicMonitor
  • Work with vendors to develop BOM (Bill of Materials) for new network projects
  • Work with internal Supply Chain contacts to procure new equipment and software
  • Develop end user training as required


Basic/Required:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
  • Current valid drivers license
  • Willing and able to work a rotating shift (14 days on/14 days off)
  • 5+ years of Network experience
  • 1+ years of experience with fiber optic transport technologies
  • 3+ years of experience working with Cisco network equipment

  • Cisco CCNA Certification
