Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated NewSQL Database Engineer to design, implement, and manage scalable database solutions using modern NewSQL technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with distributed SQL systems, high-performance tuning, and a solid understanding of modern cloud-based architecture.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and maintain high-availability, high-throughput NewSQL databases.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and schema designs.
- Monitor database performance and implement improvements for scalability and reliability.
- Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Work with DevOps and software engineering teams to support CI/CD workflows.
- Ensure data security and compliance with standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, etc.
- Evaluate and recommend NewSQL technologies (e.g., CockroachDB, Google Spanner, NuoDB, TiDB, YugabyteDB).
Professional Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in database engineering or administration.
- 2+ years of experience working with NewSQL databases.
- Strong command of SQL and experience with performance tuning and indexing.
- Proficient in database monitoring and profiling tools.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, ACID compliance, and CAP theorem.
