Position: OSP Engineer II

Location: hybrid; 3 days on-site in Ft. Washington, PA

Estimated Duration: The client approximates that this project may last up to 2+ years. However, there is no guarantee of employment for any length of time.

Pay Rate Range: $35-38/hr. (paid weekly on W2)

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Planning and Designing additions, upgrades, repairs and enhancements.
• Selecting and pricing solutions based on the most effective, efficient, and timely design.
• Coordination with internal departments and customer focused communication with residential and business end-users, building contractors, and property owners to implement solutions appropriately.
• Creating winning outcomes for both Verizon and its customers.
• Field survey and Engineering design function for our Fios Open for Sale program
• Surveying customer locations and the surrounding our clients Network in order to provide a local design solution for the delivery of service. This includes the identification of Outside Plant Fiber Optic Network elements in proximity to the customer and determining methods of delivery to the customer's building.
• This role will require coordination with a variety of teams and will have direct contact with business and residential customers.
• Work will be performed in an outdoor environment and also indoors within customer premises.

Requirements:

• The candidate must have strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to make network design decisions based on recommended Engineering Guidelines and design criteria.
• Must possess the ability to interact with customers in a clear and concise manner in order to communicate and explain our service order process and the method of delivery.
• As a strong communicator, the candidate must quickly build relationships with a diverse range of people and explain complex technical issues in a way that everyone can understand.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Outside Plant Engineering, Construction, or Installation Experience.
• Three or more years of relevant work experience.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical/science/mathematics fields.
• Experience with windows-based programs and corporate database systems.
• Experience with CAD, and MS Excel/MS Access
