Role: Observability Engineer (Dynatrace Tools Lead) Locations: 1, Corporate Drive, Shelton, CT, USA 06484 (Fully Onsite) Duration: 12+ Months Contract
Note: Candidate needs to be in the office 5 Days every week. Local or candidates from Nearby states only.
Job Description:
The Observability Engineer is responsible for overall monitoring of Subway's Infrastructure (Server, Network, Database, Identity. Cloud Services), and applications including iOS and Android mobile apps, internal and external web applications, and custom applications and services.
The Engineer is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and documentation of monitoring solutions.
The Engineer is also responsible for training and coaching of the Enterprise Operations Center staff on monitoring solutions.

Certification requirements (Preferred):
ITIL 4
Dynatrace Certified Professional
AWS Cloud Practitioner
Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals
Splunk Core Certified Power User
Key Responsibilities:
Providing technical guidance / training and escalations from the operations teams 50
Researching and creating improvements plans for Engineering approval 20
Monitoring Operations teams queue to ensure requests are handled timely and appropriately 20
Working with Engineering to learn and prepare operations to support new initiatives 10
Technical Skills:
Hands-on experience leading offshore operations team from both a management and technical perspective.
Technical skills required:
Deep understanding and hands on experience on Dynatrace platform
Job Functions:
Include the responsibilities, which if excluded, would fundamentally alter the position. Estimated % of time spent
Design, configure, and maintain monitoring and alerting software including Dynatrace, SolarWinds, and Splunk 50
Work with technology owners, development teams, and architects to instrument observability solutions and determine monitoring and alerting requirements 25
Provide training and process guidance to Enterprise Operations Center team members 10
Develop and document processes and procedures related to application monitoring software and alert response 10
Proactive monitoring and incident response of Production environment 5
Qualifications:
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead Operations teams and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Working Conditions
Work is primarily performed in an office setting.
May work extended hours or weekends for Major Incident / outage support and off business hours activities.
