Job Title: Operations Support Manager
Location: Shaw AFB, SC (100% On-Site)
Clearance Required: Top Secret with SCI Eligibility
Travel: Occasional CONUS and OCONUS TDY (including Al Udeid AB, Qatar)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Support Manager to lead and support IT operations within the AFCENT area of responsibility (AOR). This position will provide strategic guidance and hands-on support across SharePoint, Business Application Development, and Configuration Management functions, applying industry best practices and SDLC principles. The ideal candidate is a senior-level professional with deep expertise in IT operations, a strong understanding of geopolitical contexts, and the ability to brief high-level stakeholders effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert guidance on SharePoint, Business Application Development, and Configuration Management, grounded in SDLC principles.
Research and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance enterprise-level IT systems.
Maintain awareness of geopolitical and U.S. doctrine issues related to AFCENT AOR and integrate relevant insights into IT operations.
Prepare and deliver technical briefings and recommendations to senior IT leadership.
Serve as functional manager of the Change Advisory Board (CAB), including meeting coordination and documentation.
Manage Systems Requirements Documents (AF 3215) in support of mission objectives.
Review and release NOSC Communications Task Orders (CTOs) for AFCENT Forward publication.
Interpret and implement AFI and DoD guidance on web and business application development; contribute to the enterprise web policy.
Develop training programs, web resources, and applications to support SharePoint use across the enterprise.
Review and finalize technical project documentation for coordination and release.
Utilize background in system administration or network engineering to develop technical documentation.
Support the Training Manager in creating and updating training aligned with mission needs.
Evaluate and enhance standard operating procedures and checklists for efficiency and compliance.
Coordinate and support technical visits from DoD, contractor, and vendor entities.
Assist with project documentation and website development as needed.
Provide status and technical updates to the NOSC Commander on all OST projects and production efforts.
Deliver on-call support outside of normal duty hours, as required
Qualifications
Security Clearance: Active TS with SCI eligibility (required)
Certification: ITIL Foundation (required)
Education & Experience:
Master s degree in a related field and 7+ years of relevant experience (preferred), OR
10+ years of IT operations and services management experience
Proven experience as an IT operations manager and developer
Strong communication and presentation skills, especially for senior stakeholders
Familiarity with AFCENT AOR and DoD enterprise environments
Travel Requirements
Occasional CONUS travel for meetings and training
Occasional OCONUS travel within the CENTCOM AOR, including Al Udeid AB, Qatar
