Oracle DBA

Education: Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other Information Technology major, or equivalent work experience

Certifications: Oracle Certification (highly desirable)

Required Experience:

• 12+ years experience with Oracle databases, possessing the capability to develop DML and DDL statements to produce very complex queries and PL/SQL database objects, including both DML and DDL
• 9+ years experience leading technical teams, focused on the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products
• 7+ years experience with financial data, preferably those that deal with accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls
• 7+ years experience with database and/or SQL performance tuning
• 7+ years experience developing PHP applications leveraging MVC frameworks, preferably CodeIgniter
• Experience using code repositories, preferably Git
• Experience using continuous integration tools, preferably Jenkins
• Knowledge of relational database designs
• Knowledge of object-oriented design methodologies
• Knowledge of Information Systems Development Methodology (ISDM)
• Experience with database query tools (i.e., TOAD, SQL Developer, SQL Navigator)
• Knowledge of database security, including role-based security
• Knowledge and experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML)
• Ability to be creative, to use sound judgment, and to display foresight to identify potential problems and design/specifications and assigned application software systems
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality
• Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, oral and written communication skills

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with standard principles of accounting, such as GAAP or International Financial Reporting Standards
• Experience with environmental regulatory business processes and practices
• Familiarity with Agile development, specifically Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP) and Kanban.

Responsibilities:

• Work with software developers, business analysts, data analysts, and other technical and non- technical subject-matter experts to coordinate and facilitate work.
• Work with various technical teams (DevOps, DBAs, Network Administrators, Enterprise Development Architects, PMO, etc.) to assist in resolving issues/barriers with applications
• Adhere to the department's project management methodology, standards, policies and procedures, as well as those technical standards and policies relevant to assigned user stories/tasks.
• Demonstrate strong relationship and interpersonal skills in working with technical staff, program staff and vendor community.
• Manage relationships with DEP program area business partners. Develop strong and collaborative relationships with customers to achieve positive project outcomes.
• Assist in the business process redesign efforts, as needed.
• Assist in the preparation and documentation of program requirements and specifications, as needed.
• Writing, translating, and coding software programs and applications per specifications.
• Assisting in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines.
• Working with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.
• Provide guidance and/or instruction to junior staff members.
