About the Role
We're looking for a strategic and results-driven Project Manager to lead a high-impact healthcare technology initiative focused on interoperability and prior authorization. You'll be responsible for driving cross-functional collaboration, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to deliver complex projects on time and within scope.
Responsibilities
- Own the full lifecycle of the interoperability initiative, ensuring successful delivery of project goals, timelines, and quality standards.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and project objectives.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities across internal teams, business partners, and external stakeholders.
- Lead multidisciplinary workgroups (30+ members) to define business and technical requirements and ensure effective execution.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones; adapt to changing priorities and constraints.
- Facilitate regular team meetings to communicate progress, manage activities, and resolve issues.
- Prepare and present project updates, reports, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate risks; track issues and action items through resolution.
- Ensure compliance with federal funding requirements, including invoice and time reporting.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the project team.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, resolve conflicts, and build consensus across diverse groups.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures related to project management and procurement.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing complex, cross-functional technology projects in the healthcare industry.
- Proven experience managing vendor contracts and working with large healthcare systems (e.g., Medicaid, Medicare, commercial payers).
- Strong understanding of SDLC, APIs, and healthcare compliance frameworks (HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid).
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience leading projects with budgets over $1M and teams of 20+ members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to translate technical concepts for business audiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated success in delivering projects from initiation through operationalization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP or equivalent).
- Expertise in stakeholder engagement, conflict resolution, and consensus building.
- Skilled in eliciting and formalizing business requirements for complex systems.
- Familiarity with regional healthcare ecosystems and key stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook, PowerPoint).
