Job Description:

Delta Dental Plan of Michigan is seeking a Performance Test Engineer to lead performance testing and monitoring efforts within a modern, cloud-native environment. The selected candidate will design and execute robust performance test strategies, work closely with cross-functional teams, and drive application optimization efforts. This is a hybrid role based in Okemos, MI.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement performance test strategies (load, stress, soak) based on business goals.

  • Create, configure, and execute advanced test scripts in JMeter simulating real-world scenarios.

  • Utilize Dynatrace for continuous monitoring and diagnostics of application performance.

  • Integrate testing tools within CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) to enable early issue detection.

  • Conduct capacity planning and infrastructure analysis, ensuring scalable and efficient performance.

  • Collaborate with Dev, Ops, and DevOps teams to troubleshoot bottlenecks and improve system architecture.

  • Optimize and manage applications within Kubernetes clusters, focusing on autoscaling and resilience.

  • Generate performance dashboards/reports for stakeholders and conduct root cause analysis using Dynatrace.

  • Maintain version control of scripts and documentation using Bitbucket.

  • Actively participate in Agile PI planning, aligning performance goals and identifying key dependencies.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

  • 7+ years in performance testing, monitoring, and evaluation.

  • 5+ years of application development experience.

  • Strong expertise in JMeter and Dynatrace.

  • Proficient in SQL, Linux, CI/CD (Jenkins), and Bitbucket.

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes performance tuning and autoscaling.

  • Solid understanding of agile development and performance engineering practices.

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Desired (Not Mandatory):
  • Experience in the Healthcare/Insurance industry.
