Overview
As the Pharmacy Analytics Consultant, you will be responsible for tasks related to the Pharmacy Analytics practice for AssuredPartners existing and prospective clients. You will provide support for and be responsible for assisting with Reporting, Pharmacy Analytics, Data Management, and Vendor Oversight.
The Pharmacy Analytics Consultant will work with Data Consultants, Underwriters, Account Managers, Producers, and Clients in preparing requests for proposals, obtaining, and analyzing carrier quotes, inputting, and analyzing data from various automation systems, and maintaining a book of business.

How you'll make an impact
- Review data for reasonableness, and validate data against key performance indicators collected from the Pharmacy Benefit Manager vendor (PBM)
- Execute competitive bidding of pharmacy coverage for clients.
- Prepare presentations outlining financial and contractual analysis according to company policy.
- Perform pharmacy pricing guarantee reconciliations for clients on both a quarterly and annual basis.
- Full working knowledge of PBM pricing, contract language and financial modeling of a pharmacy benefits proposal.
- The experience working within Medispan and other drug pricing services.
- Work with Underwriters and Data Consultants to evaluate, determine, and recommend alternative coverages, pricing, options, and plan design changes based on analysis of available plan elements and on client/prospect goals.
- Learn to interpret clients? current pharmacy programs and identify/recommend gaps, alternatives, additional plan design changes, etc.
- Produce deliverables timely, accurately, and in compliance with company standards.
- Help in leading, training, and mentoring junior staff members where appropriate.
- Continuously assess and provide recommendations for process improvement.
- Collaborate with peers on the Healthcare Strategy team on best practices.
- Negotiate Pharmacy coverage with carrier partners.
- Present all forms of reporting and financial deliverables to our clients.
- Forecast and develop client budget projections.
- Maintain positive relationships with vendor representatives.
- Remain abreast of the health insurance environment and constantly changing insurance legislation.
- Research and understand industry trends and PBM product offerings
- Respond to routine and non-routine correspondence.
- Work independently and within the team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects.
- Represent AssuredPartners positively and professionally with both internal and external Clients.
- Maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
About You
Required: Bachelor's degree in quantitative based field (e.g., Accounting, Computer Science, Finance, Math, Statistics) and 5 years related experience required. Demonstrated, in depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access. Requires qualification as pharmacy technician.
Preferred: Relevant advanced degree (e.g., MBA). Experience with reporting tools such as SAS BI, SQL Server, Oracle and Greenplum highly desirable.
Behaviors: Must be highly analytical and detail-oriented. Strong communication and decision making skills.
