Plant Safety Specialist - Food Manufacturing

Title: Plant Safety Specialist - Food Manufacturing

Location: North Little Rock, AR - ON SITE ROLE

Salary: $65,000-$80,000/Year + Bonus/Benefits

Requirements: 3+ Years as a Safety Professional in a Manufacturing environment (bonus if it is food/beverage) Must have an understanding of OSHA standards and managing safety programs. This position will track injuries and workplace accidents and the candidate must have an understanding of compliance with federal and state regulations.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Manages all aspects of incident investigation, analysis, and reporting by conducting thorough investigations of workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses to determine root causes and contributing factors.
  • Prepares detailed reports, tracks corrective actions, and identifies trends to prevent future occurrences and improve overall safety performance.
  • Lead, drive and foster a positive safety culture through the plant safety committee which drives employee safety and health programs in the facility.
  • Conducts inspections and risk assessments across the facility to identify potential safety hazards.
  • Develop and deliver safety orientations, workshops, and ongoing training sessions for all levels of employees.
  • Focuses on hazard prevention by conducting job hazard analyses, recommending engineering controls, and promoting the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Ensures the organization's safety programs and policies are in compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Responsible for conducting regular inspections, audits, and assessments of facilities, equipment, and work practices.
  • Develops and maintains safety policies, procedures, and documentation, and works closely with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and compliance.

What you need for this Role:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field is preferred or an associate's degree with 8+ years of relevant safety experience may be considered.
  • 3-5 years of as a safety professional in a manufacturing environment

  • Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.

  • Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs and communicate safety information to employees.

  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends in workplace safety.

  • Ability to identify unsafe situations or potentially unsafe situations in a manufacturing setting

  • Demonstrated excellent communication, teamwork, and partnership skills.

  • Ability to effectively resolve conflict and manage challenging situations.

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office products, to include Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook

  • Solid team leadership experience and demonstrated effectiveness in a leadership role.

  • Solid judgment, decision making and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience providing performance feedback and working with employees to improve performance.

Preferred:

  • 10 to 12 years operations or production experience.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) highly preferred
