My name is Shannon, and I am a Recruiter with The Fountain Group. We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking a PowerBI Developer/Analyst for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Clark, New Jersey - Hybrid. Details for the position are as follows:

Job Description:
Duration: 3 months
Pay: $50-57.83/hr.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Power BI Developer/Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. You will collaborate with business units to understand reporting needs and translate them into interactive, insightful dashboards and reports that drive informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data analysis, reporting, and dashboarding needs.
  • Data Modeling & Transformation: Design and develop robust data models in Power BI; create calculated columns and measures using DAX.
  • Report & Dashboard Development: Build interactive and visually compelling Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Data Source Connectivity: Connect to various data sources (SQL databases, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, cloud data warehouses) ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Performance Optimization: Ensure Power BI solutions are optimized for quick load times and efficient data refresh.
  • Data Governance & Security: Implement row-level security (RLS) and follow best practices in data governance.
  • Documentation & Training: Maintain documentation for data models, reports, and dashboards; provide end-user training and support.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and IT teams to ensure seamless data integration.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Identify and resolve issues related to reports, data refreshes, and data quality.
  • Stay Current: Keep up to date with the latest Power BI features, updates, and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 2-5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI, including dashboard and report development.
  • Strong proficiency in DAX for creating complex measures and calculated columns.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into clear insights for business stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other BI tools, such as SAP Business Objects (BObj) or Spotfire.
  • Knowledge of Cloud data services (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Azure SQL Database).
  • Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis.
  • Understanding of data visualization best practices and UX principles.
