Precon Manager - Mechanical
Position Overview
A leading construction firm is looking to bring a Precon Manager onto their team. They will be responsible for overseeing the preconstruction phase of mechanical projects, ensuring that all aspects of HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems are thoroughly planned and executed. This role requires a strategic mindset and a strong understanding of construction processes to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preconstruction process for mechanical projects, including HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to define project scope and specifications.
- Prepare and review project estimates, budgets, and schedules to ensure feasibility and profitability.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for project planning.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies during the preconstruction phase.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure bids and negotiate contracts.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members throughout the preconstruction process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical preconstruction or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Proficient in project management software and estimation tools.
