Required Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science & Engineering or an equivalent discipline.

Technical Skills:
Programming Languages: Expert-level proficiency in C++, C#, and .NET application development.
Databases: Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with SQL Server Express or pgSQL.
Development Tools: Experience with tools such as Visual Studio, Git, SVN, Jenkins, Jira, and BitBucket.
Operating Systems: Proficiency in Windows-based development.
Software Principles: Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented architecture, design patterns, and software development principles.

Domain Knowledge & Experience (Non-Negotiable):
Regulated Environment: 5+ years of software engineering experience in a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, healthcare, aerospace).
Healthcare Domain: Understanding of healthcare regulations, standards, and the medical software development process.
PC-Based Applications: Proven experience developing and maintaining PC-based software applications.

A Principal Engineer for software will be responsible for the architecture, design, and implementation of Baxter's diagnostic cardiology solutions. This role involves technical leadership for both new product development and the maintenance of existing products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and compliance in a regulated medical environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Architect, design, and lead the development of software modules and projects.
Provide technical leadership for maintenance activities and the resolution of field-reported issues, taking a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Review and approve software designs and code to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
Analyze requirements, identify technical risks, and assist in developing mitigation plans.
Guide and coach development and test teams on best practices, design, and implementation.
Drive the application of SDLC principles and methodologies like Agile/Lean/XP, Continuous Integration (CI), and software security.
Own and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and development processes.
