Description
The Principal Regulatory Coordinator plays a strategic role within a motor vehicle manufacturer's Product Regulatory Office, supporting the development of compliant and competitive products and services. This position ensures the company's alignment with evolving regulatory standards through expert research, consultation, and advocacy. The coordinator collaborates across internal teams-product development, legal, and quality assurance-and engages with external agencies and industry groups to interpret regulations, influence policy, and guide compliance strategies.
Key responsibilities include conducting regulatory research and analysis, advising on compliance approaches, monitoring regulatory changes, supporting certification processes, and driving process improvements. The role also manages library services resources to support regulatory intelligence and cost efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Regulatory Affairs, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in regulatory affairs or compliance.
  • Must have experience reading/interpreting regulations. Legal/paralegal backgrounds are helpful.
  • Broad knowledge of regulations - safety, chemical, human rights, etc.
  • Understand relevance of how regulations impact business operations enterprise-wide.
  • Experience working with various teams/stakeholders.
  • Experience in large, complex organizations is helpful (finance, healthcare, or other highly regulated industry is ideal).
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills are essential.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
