REQUIRED SKILLS:

Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
Experience development of large software data processing system architectures, with a focus on system-level interfaces
Experience with systems engineering lifecycles, roles and functions, with specific experience in some of the following areas: operations concept development, requirements management, functional analysis/synthesis, interface definition and control, and/or verification and validation
Development experience on a government contract
Experience with Agile and DevSecOps development methods
Experience leading cross-functional teams
Active and transferrable TS/SCI with polygraph U.S. government issued clearance is required prior to start date

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Contractor or Contract to Hire.

Principal Systems Engineer role supporting one of our premier programs in the ASDS business unit. Your knowledge with regards to clarification of large system agile software development and system capability and feature development, system engineering analyses, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, acceptance criteria development for validation and verification with a focus on system-level interfaces will be put to good use. The work is on-site in Richardson, TX

What You Will Do
Conduct technical analyses to define system functionality through detailed use cases, customer capabilities and breakdown into features
Working through software system integration and initialization challenges
Providing technical direction for development teams through CONOPS and systems design artifacts
Must possess and demonstrate good communication strategies for describing difficult topics to development teams
Provide engineering support and technical direction during the execution of the program's development, integration and test phases including acceptance criteria development, and architecture design artifacts
Participate in and contribute to technical reviews and technical interchange meetings throughout the program lifecycle
Articulate identified integration challenges across ground system segments and translating technical issues into mission-level impacts
Provide mission readiness assessments based on technical integration progress, risks, and interdependencies
Communicate emerging risks and concerns to leadership and stakeholders, offering clear pathways for awareness and resolution
Recommend defect prioritization across system segments to facilitate effective integration and the achievement of enterprise test objectives
Active and transferrable TS/SCI with polygraph U.S. government issued clearance is required prior to start date

Qualifications We Prefer Communication skills experience, particularly in translating complex technical issues into mission readiness impacts Experience with Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, etc.) Experience working with requirements in DOORS or other requirements repositories Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps in an Agile development environment Good oral and written communication skills as well as good collaboration skills and the ability to work in a cross functional team environment
