The Developer Enablement team sits at the intersection of Engineering and Learning & Development, and ensures that the technical learning strategy is well integrated with the overall employee learning journey at Netflix. Our mission is to help all Netflix engineers, scientists, and solution developers be as informed and productive as possible by ensuring they have access to curated knowledge, education, and support resources, when and where they need them.

Team initiatives include new hire engineering onboarding, continuing education, JIT/on-demand training, overall knowledge strategy for technical training execution, and delivery of Engineering wide programs to build community and drive a culture of learning.

About the role

General Program Manager (L5) with breadth and depth of experience in Developer Enablement.

We are looking for an innovative, proactive General Program Manager who is passionate about technical training, content creation, discovering and applying data insights, and has strong opinions on learning pedagogies and quantifiable training success. The Developer Education (DevEd) team's mission is to transform the engineering landscape of onboarding and continuing education programs into a more interactive, impactful, and engaging experience. Your team is responsible for all engineering onboarding and continuing education training, planning, delivery, and development, including communication campaigns, metric tracking and reporting, defining and aligning training personas, and cross-team partnership training implementation. We're looking for a self-starter who is excited to give and receive feedback, can ruthlessly prioritize, and is passionate about technology, learning, and can think outside of the box to help us scale. You should be someone who loves discovering new data and metrics, is quick to soak in information and make a smart decision based on data, and brings focused energy to the team and engineering community.

Will require travel to the Netflix offices for onboarding and quarterly on-sites, at minimum Additional travel may be required for certain training events.

What you will do...

  • Manage and prioritize requests for new and updated technical training and documentation.
  • Guide content creation alongside stakeholders, continually scanning for necessary updates, learning gaps, or outdated material.
  • Responsible for data reporting, signaling, and trending, using data from ESO, Manuals, and Search, to make informed decisions about content creation and documentation.
  • Partner with internal and external program managers, instructional designers, technical writers, and facilitators for developer education program execution.
  • Foster a culture of learning that promotes inclusion and diversity in our teams, interactions, and learning models.


Your experience must include or demonstrate...

  • Discovering and applying data insights, including experience measuring, leading, and lagging learning metrics and using those insights to guide strategy and operations.
  • Creating and editing engaging documentation, with a strong opinion on documentation strategy including sustainability, maintenance, and archiving.
  • Managing and prioritizing a large number and variety of requests for new and updated technical training, including guiding content creation alongside stakeholders.
  • Designing and implementing diverse learning formats using blended instructional methods.
  • Navigating diverse stakeholder groups, forming and sustaining successful partnerships by influencing up, down, and across.
  • Creating and maintaining a learning culture that amplifies the organization's potential.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $210,000-$315,000.
