You ll work alongside experienced developers, QA analysts, and operational support staff to maintain and improve mission-critical healthcare systems.
Why This Position is Open
This role is open due to ongoing support needs for existing Medicaid IT systems, including claims adjudication and payment processing. The department is also preparing for new projects in FY26, which will require additional skilled resources.
Project Scope
The contractor will:
- Provide production system support (backfill for existing systems).
- Contribute to short-term development and enhancement projects.
- Collaborate closely with customers, development teams, QA, and operational staff.
Daily Responsibilities
- Collaborate with MMIS and MEDS teams to implement changes in COBOL and CA-ADS programs using IDMS network or relational databases.
- Read and interpret technical and design specifications.
- Debug, unit test, and perform integration testing for code changes.
- Support QA staff during user acceptance and external testing phases.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, both in writing and verbally.
- Participate in on-call rotation for production support.
- Coordinate with Clemson University staff and other contracted personnel.
