\nPosition Overview:
\nWe are seeking a Production Training Specialist to join our team at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF) Detachment in Guam. The successful candidate will serve as an advisor and Subject Matter Expert (SME) on qualification requirements for project teams, applying their extensive knowledge of naval shipwork to support repair, overhaul, and conversion efforts.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\nServe as an advisor and SME on qualification requirements for project teams, recommending practical training solutions to overcome challenges affecting projects.
\nDevelop and implement team qualifications, training plans, and competency tracking through the use of automated training management systems (ATMS) or equivalent programs.
\nProvide trade training for various codes, including Structural, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Pipefitting, Preservation, and Temporary Services.
\nPrepare on-the-job training (OJT) guidelines and check-off sheets for trainee craft proficiency.
\nMentor and instruct production/project personnel on technical and leadership competencies.
\nDisseminate lessons learned from other shipyards to improve team knowledge and skills, ensuring successful execution of Guam Detachment projects.
\nEvaluate individual and team performance, recommending actions to address any deficiencies.
\nDevelop metrics and measures to assess the effectiveness of initial and continued training programs, ensuring alignment with Guam Detachment and NAVSEA goals.
\nPerform root cause analysis of classroom performance trends and present findings to the Detachment Training Program Manager.
\nExecute training program administrative functions, including scheduling, recordkeeping, and qualification maintenance.
\nMaintain facilities, mockups, tools, equipment, and materials necessary for training programs.
\nMay require qualification to perform radiological work as part of trade training.
\nQualifications:
\nMinimum of 10 years of experience in Naval Shipyard Production Work on Los Angeles Class and Virginia Class submarines.
\nExtensive knowledge of production trades and their functions within a naval shipyard.
\nExperience in developing training curriculum and delivering instruction to wage grade and military employees.
\nStrong analytical skills to evaluate training program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to brief and instruct personnel at all levels.
\nKnowledge of qualification programs, proficiency requirements, and training methods.
\nAbility to perform radiological work may be required.
\nSpecial Requirements:
\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance with a red badge.
\nAbility to stand, crawl, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.
\nMust be able to obtain a DBIDS or Common Access Card (CAC) clearance.
