Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced IT Security and Compliance Project Manager for a 12-month contract position based in Columbia, SC. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in project management and a working knowledge of information security, compliance, and risk management practices particularly in a healthcare or public-sector environment.
This role involves leading and supporting IT security and compliance projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, MARS-E, and NIST. You ll collaborate with technical teams, stakeholders, and vendors to guide project deliverables from planning through execution.

Duration: 12-Month Contract
Responsibilities:
- Plan, guide, organize, and coordinate project assignments across teams
- Lead and support the execution of security and compliance initiatives
- Develop and maintain project documentation, status reports, and stakeholder updates
- Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and deliverables
- Present and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with internal system assessments and audits
- Prioritize tasks based on organizational goals and situational pressures
- Use tools such as Microsoft Office, eGRC systems (e.g., RSA Archer), Atlassian, and Bizagi to manage project artifacts
Required Skills (Ranked by Importance):
- Minimum 3 years of Project Management experience
- At least 1 year of experience in Information Security, Compliance, or Risk Management
- Strong ability to manage and coordinate work assignments across teams
- Excellent communication and report presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks in alignment with organizational objectives
- Strong organizational and planning capabilities
Preferred Skills (Ranked by Importance):
- Experience in healthcare IT and related compliance requirements
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, MARS-E, ARC-AMPE, NIST, FERPA
- Experience working with Microsoft Office products and eGRC tools (e.g., RSA Archer)
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor s degree in a related field or 5+ years of equivalent work experience
Preferred Certifications:
- PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification
- Any Security Certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM) are a plus
