Job Summary:We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager to join our PMO team. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience managing projects, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams through the entire project lifecycle. This role involves supporting various state departments, including the Department of Labor & Economic Opportunity, Michigan State Housing Development Authority, Unemployment Insurance Agency, and the Attorney General's Office.
Key Responsibilities:-
Lead and coordinate work teams to achieve project objectives.

Apply standard project management methodologies, including PMI best practices.

Develop project documentation such as project charters, work plans, and communication strategies.

Monitor project budgets, schedules, deliverables, and KPIs to ensure alignment with objectives.

Define and manage project scope, risks, and change control processes.

Build effective teams, assign responsibilities, and evaluate performance and progress.

Collaborate closely with project sponsors and stakeholders to meet business and technical goals.

Manage communication across all levels, ensuring clear and timely updates.

Identify and address issues and barriers, escalating as needed for resolution.

Support technical teams by understanding application features and providing direction where needed.

May supervise application systems analysts or support staff, depending on the assignment.

May assist with larger, complex initiatives under the supervision of a Senior Project or Program Manager.

Projects may span across housing, unemployment services, or legal support domains, based on organizational needs.

Requires a degree of creativity, independent judgment, and self-direction.

Must be comfortable with planning and delivering results in a structured, deadline-driven environment.

May require familiarity with specific platforms, applications, or operating systems, based on project scope.

Professional certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work streams.

Experience with public sector or government projects is a plus.
