Job Description

The Project Manager will be responsible for project planning and execution, preparing reports as required by the KCC executive team, stakeholder collaboration, documentation management, risk management, quality assurance and working with the IV&V contractor. Additionally, the Project Manager will oversee specific project expectations, including the Project Steering Committee, Configuration Management, Internal Quality Assurance, Risk Management, Organizational Change Management and various project plans and reports.

Vendor requirements:

a. Shall be in good standing with the State of Kansas and have no significant problems in prior work for the state.

b. Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is mandatory.

c. Proven experience in large-scale project management is mandatory.

d. Strong leadership and communication skills.

e. Experience with large projects in Kansas is preferred.

Deliverables:

a. Perform project preparations, providing guidance, advice, and experience-based information.

b. Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan, outlining timelines, milestones, and resource allocations in adherence to the Kansas Project Management Methodology (PMM) and ITEC policies.

c. Submit required project related documents to the Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) vendor.

d. Facilitate stakeholder collaboration, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

e. Establish and maintain project documentation, including plans, schedules, status reports, and IV&V findings.

f. Identify and assess project risks, developing mitigation strategies.

g. Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the integrity and accuracy of project deliverables.

h. Oversee testing and validation activities to meet quality standards.

i. Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related matters.

j. Regularly communicate project status, issues, and updates to Project Sponsor and Executive Team.
