Job Details

Protection & Control Engineer 3 (Multiple Positions) (Stantec Consulting Services Inc.; Berkley, MI): Develop control building layouts, P&C one-line diagrams, AC/DC electrical schematics, control panel layouts and wiring diagrams, station service AC/DC distribution diagrams, bill of materials, cable schedules, and point assignments. Develop and review technical electrical engineering specifications, drawings and standards of equipment and projects. Determine station service loading requirements and perform battery sizing calculations. Review and accept vendor submittals ensuring compliance with applicable technical specifications and industry standards. Draft designs using computer aided design programs such as MicroStation and AutoCAD. Visit substation sites to verify data for identification, definition, and execution phases of the engineering project. Review design basis memorandum and engineering scope documents to guide engineers/designers to align engineering deliverables according to project requirements. Provide construction support including resolving site queries, attending site meetings, and performing site inspections. 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.). #LI-DNI #GTM

Requirements:

Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience; OR a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience with the following: Engineering design and drafting of substation protection schemes, control building layout, P&C one line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, control panel layout, wiring diagrams, station service AC/DC distribution diagrams, bill of material, cable schedule, and point assignments; and AutoCAD and MicroStation.

Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following: P&C system studies; Relaying setting, calculations, and coordination using Aspen One-Liner, ETAP, or SKM; and National Electric Code and North American Electric Reliability Corporation Standards.

Must have an active U.S. Electrical Engineer license.

Telecommuting permitted up to 3 day a week, depending on business need.

Travel to various locations throughout the US required up to 10%.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
