Quality Inspector - Receipt Inspection of Materials and Equipment
Beaumont, TX | 12+ Months | Full-Time (40-50 hrs/week, M-F)
iSphere is seeking a detail-driven Quality Inspector to join our client s team in Hamshire and Sabine Pass, TX. If you take pride in precision, enjoy digging into technical documentation, and know how to spot even the smallest non-conformance, this role offers you the chance to keep critical projects on track and in compliance.
What You ll Do

Receipt Inspections: Verify incoming materials and equipment (piping, valves, rotating machinery, etc.) against purchase orders, specs, and project standards.

Compliance Checks: Conduct Positive Material Identification (PMI), dimensional measurements, and validate compliance with ASME, API, and ANSI standards.

Documentation Reviews: Review Manufacturer s Data Books (MDBs), Material Test Certificates (MTCs), and inspection/test records to ensure completeness and traceability.

SAP Quality Management: Use the SAP QM Module to document inspections, track results, and manage non-conformances.

Non-Conformance Management: Identify, document, and work with suppliers to resolve issues issuing NCRs when needed.

Communication & Reporting: Prepare detailed inspection reports with supporting evidence and communicate findings across QA/QC, procurement, and engineering teams.

Inventory Coordination: Partner with warehouse and logistics teams to validate storage, handling, and documentation for all inspected materials.
What You Bring

Education: High school diploma or GED required; degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related) preferred.

Experience: 5+ years in quality inspection or QC within oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy manufacturing.

Technical Knowledge:

Hands-on SAP QM Module experience (non-negotiable).

Strong skills with PMI testing, dimensional inspection, and mechanical/piping materials.

Proficiency with MS Office and common measuring tools (calipers, gauges, micrometers).

Certifications: Welding, Coating, and NDT certifications highly desirable. PMI certification a plus.

Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to analyze documentation, and excellent communication (both verbal and written).
