The Leonardo DRS Land Electronics business provides C4I Network computing and integrated situational awareness, as well as state-of-the-art embedded diagnostics, vehicle power management and combat vehicle integration products and services.
Job Summary
Land Electronics in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Quality Inspector for the 2nd shift (4/10's) to perform inspection activities in a clean room (ISO 7) environment. Responsibilities include ensuring product conformance through inspection, assisting Quality Engineers with non-conformance identification, data collection, and root cause analysis. Specialize in various inspections and implement best practices across the product realization value stream. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and experience in quality control processes.

What You Will Do

- Perform inspection activities, to assess conformance of products to the design as defined by the engineering drawings and/or models \n
- Inspect products, components, subassemblies, and/or systems to ensure conformance to requirements \n
- Create organizational value by implementing innovative solutions and best practices involved in all processes of the product realization value stream \n
- Assist Quality Engineers with identifying non-conforming conditions of products that present existing or impending defective conditions at the system or subsystem level of assembly \n
- Assist Quality Engineers prepare inspection plans and checklists for inspection \n
- Assist Quality Engineers with data collection and root cause analysis investigations \n
- Generate discrepancy notices and initiate Material Review Board actions \n
- Perform material movement transactions after completing inspection process \n
- May specialize in receiving inspection, in-process inspection, process verification/auditing, final inspection, etc \n
- IPQC and FQC for clean room in an ISO 7 work environment \n
Qualifications
- \n
- High school diploma or GED \n
- In-depth knowledge of relevant manufacturing standards (such as J-Std-001/IPC-A-610) or common mechanical techniques (such as geometric dimensioning and tolerance practices) \n
- Ability to use various measurement devices (calipers, pin gauges, go/no-go gauges, etc) to verify mechanical part compliance \n
- Experience reading mechanical drawings and able to verify parts dimensions against drawing requirements \n
- Ability to effectively interpret data and present as information and respond to questions from engineers and other technical staff \n
