Job Description
Job Title: Quality InspectorJob Description

The Quality Inspector is responsible for verifying routine product conformance to design requirements and providing objective evidence of results. This role involves auditing, surveillance, monitoring, identifying and documenting discrepancies, and controlling non-conforming items. The Quality Inspector performs preliminary reviews and dispositions non-conformance, conducts product reviews with customers during product or process verification, and initiates requests for corrective action for repetitive or significant non-conformances.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct dimensional inspections per design records and documented AQL levels.
  • Perform visual inspections for obvious defects.
  • Review and disposition all certification documentation to meet traceability requirements per AS9100 and Company Quality standards.
  • Communicate with vendors as needed and control non-conforming products.
  • Obtain and maintain Customer Designated Supplier Quality Representative Stamps for at least three customers.
  • Review and approve First Articles from suppliers.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities to increase inspector productivity.
  • Assist with RCCA activities pertaining to Inspection.
  • Support internal, customer, and third-party audits.

Essential Skills
  • 1-2 years of related work experience (2-4 years preferred).
  • Equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience.
  • Previous aerospace inspection experience.
  • Experience in QA inspection methods and procedures, including First Article Inspection.
  • Fluency in English for reading, writing, and verbal communication.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Required to pass documented color and near vision exam.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 requirements.
  • Experience with calipers, ring/pin gages, comparator, and Smart scope.
  • Proficient PC skills and use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Understanding of Six Sigma / team concepts.
  • Advanced GD&T Skills Optical Comparator, CMM, Layout, Vision Scope Systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Quality control and assurance.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Document control, print, scan, review, and organize.
  • Advanced GD&T skills.

Work Environment

The role is based in an office environment within a clean, well-organized, air-conditioned warehouse. Regular working hours are from 7 AM to 4 PM or 8 AM to 5 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Enfield, Connecticut.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
