Job Overview:
This position will supervise the Quality Engineering / Technician positions at our Sedalia, MO Operations to provide technical support and ensure compliance to ISO-9001 International Quality Standards for the manufacturing operations. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining all procedures required for ISO 9001 as well as preparation for associated quality audits. This position will also work with the Procurement / Sourcing Departments to ensure outside suppliers (domestic and international) are providing raw material and manufactured components that comply with all engineering and purchasing specifications. All this while working cooperatively with all functions including production to solve quality issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervisor for Quality Engineering, Quality Technicians, and plant inspection personnel.
  • Coordinates ISO visits with necessary staff and manages any corrective actions that occur as a result of external inspections.
  • Monitors production First-Pass-Yield data, supplier score cards, warranty trends, and other key quality metrics. Partner with the Plant Manager, Production Supervision, Sourcing Team, and ITS - America's Quality Leader to initiate corrective actions for key quality metrics as required.
  • In conjunction with Sourcing, work with outside vendors to develop or improve manufacturing processes for purchased components.
  • Actively participate in Kaizen Events and other Lean activities to improve quality and drive out waste / cost from the manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure vendor changes, part substitutions, and First Article Inspections are compliant with plant quality procedures.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering and production in troubleshooting and resolving production problems.
  • Work closely with global Customer Service, Field Service and Manufacturing personnel to resolve customer / field issues regarding legacy and new products.
  • Use advanced Quality Assurance techniques (FMEA, CMM Inspection, GD&T, Gage R&R Studies, Process Capability Studies...) to proactively manage product quality.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering
  • Must have good mechanical aptitude of general machinery.
  • 8+ years of quality assurance experience preferably in a machining/assembly facility with 5 years of progressive Leadership, managing Quality Assurance programs
  • Experience in leading audits
  • Ability to lead a global, cross functional team comprised of personnel from the purchasing, manufacturing, sales/marketing, etc. and reach project goals within schedule parameters.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, project management and organizational skills. Must be capable to work in a fast paced, creative, results-oriented atmosphere.


Preferences:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Engineering Management preferred
  • Certified Quality Engineer preferred.
  • Experience in statistical process control preferred.
  • Previous experience in SAP or other ERP type systems is preferred


Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
This position will be based at our Sedalia, MS office with minimal anticipated travel.
