Job Details

Job Description

  • Read and interpret basic drawings, weld procedure specifications (WPS), and welding symbols
  • Ability to help conduct qualifications and write weld procedures
  • Basic weld inspection tool usage: fillet gauge, V-WAC gauge, combination square, protractor, caliper, tape measure, flashlight, mirror, magnifying glass, temperature crayon, borescope, dye-penetrant
  • Ability to determine weld procedure requirements for Estimating and Sales
  • Ability to answer welding-related questions or know where to direct questions
  • Fully inspect weldments and sub-weldments
  • Document results of inspections, including VT reports and weld maps
  • Communicate welding nonconformances to Welding Supervisor, Welding Trainer, Welder Development Coordinator, Lead Weld Inspector
  • Maintain material certifications and inspection documentation
  • Label nonconforming parts
  • Use calibrated measuring equipment where applicable
  • Follow all safety procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills is required

Education:
  • GED/High School Diploma/Technical Degree
  • \n
\n
Experience:
  • 1-3 Years welding experience and/or
  • 6+ Years welding inspection experience -required
  • 3 + Years of dimensional inspection experience-required
  • \n

Specialized Experience:
  • AWS CWI and/or ASNT VT Level III -required
  • \n
\n
Ability to be certified to ASNT VT Level II in-house within 30 days of hire
