Radio Engineer

TheRadio Engineerwill serve as the Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing input in support of cost estimates, budget development, development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and process improvements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks in support of the Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Engineer.
- Monitor, track, and report system utilization data, aggregate tenant users, radio programming, and interfaces with vendors and installers to identify problems with items under warranty.
- Assist the government in the development of LMR communications, management, testing, key management, maintenance, and disaster recovery planning.
- Maintain and update a broad range of documentation dealing with LMRs from "as-built" documents to technical drawings and diagrams.
- Evaluate requirements and operations to determine improvements to effectiveness, responsiveness, and economic benefits.
- Review, monitor, and assist in the installation, modification, and rehabilitation of LMR systems.
- Perform troubleshooting, fault isolation, and take corrective actions to resolve issues with equipment such as P25 IP radio equipment.
- Program and re-program radios and dispatch consoles (users and test radios) for operations, exercises, and special events.
- Provide full technical and administrative support for LMRs.
- Develop radio and console personalities to satisfy user requirements.
- Participate in customer meetings, conferences, and staff visits at regional client sites.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a related field; a combination of experience and training, may be used in lieu of a degree.
- 5+ years of experience in radio engineering support.
- Possess Baseline and Full Computing Environment Certifications for IAT-II IAW DoD 8570.01-M and BBP 05-PR-M-0002.
- Secret clearance Tier 5 investigation required.
