Job Summary
Comcast is seeking a talented and dedicated Release Triage & Quality Engineer to support the release cycles associated with deployed software on CPE devices. These devices run Comcast's Reference Design Kit (RDK), which powers over 100 million devices across video, broadband, and home security. This role is critical to the successful development and deployment of new features and fixes, ensuring that changes are delivered reliably to the field.
Comcast's development environment is advanced and highly integrated, leveraging industry-standard tools and cloud infrastructure to support a fast-moving, agile development cycle. The effective use of open-source technologies enables Comcast to deliver innovative features and products on aggressive timelines.
Job Description

Core Responsibilities
As a key lead engineer on the team, you will be responsible for driving on-time, high-quality releases across a large fleet of devices. You will own the complete release quality and triage lifecycle-including deployment, issue investigation, mitigation, and tool development for release operations. This position requires daily collaboration with Development and QA teams, and a strong focus on deep system-level debugging to identify and resolve complex issues across the stack.
You will assess and implement new tools and plugins to improve the triage engineering process, manage risks, and resolve issues that impact release scope, schedule, and quality.

- Perform end-to-end system debugging across Linux-based platforms and networking layers, including packet capture and protocol analysis
- Develop anomaly detection techniques and data-driven solutions to proactively identify system issues
- Design and enhance operational tools to improve system performance and observability
- Analyze telemetry and field data to generate actionable insights and support decision-making
- Utilize AWS technologies (S3, Athena, QuickSight) for data management and visualization
- Lead cross-functional teams, mentor colleagues, and communicate technical insights effectively to stakeholders
Requirements:
Must skills & requirements:
- 5+ years of C/C++ and Linux experience
- Defect Tracking Tools such as Jira
- SCM Tools - Git & GitHub
- 2+ Years of experience as a technical lead and mentoring a small team of engineers
- One of Scripting language experience - BASH, Go, Python
Nice to have:
- Embedded Systems experience
- Experience AWS, Asure or other cloud infrastructure
- Experience with monitoring systems (i.e. Datadog, CloudWatch, etc.)
- Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment processes and tools such as Jenkins, Concourse etc.
- Knowledge and experience in Set-top boxes, Broadband Gateways, Networking or Home Security domain is plus.
