Healthcare QA Test Manager

Overview

The Healthcare QA Test Manager is responsible for leading quality assurance initiatives across healthcare applications and platforms. This role requires deep knowledge of healthcare systems, regulatory compliance (Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA), and proven experience in managing QA teams, with strong expertise in defect management to ensure timely resolution and delivery of secure, reliable, and compliant solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage QA teams across multiple projects, ensuring adherence to healthcare compliance standards.
  • Define and implement test strategies (manual and automated) for healthcare applications, claims processing, and eligibility systems.
  • Oversee defect management processes, including defect triage, prioritization, tracking, and resolution to maintain product quality.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (business analysts, developers, product owners) to align testing with healthcare workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and healthcare data standards (EDI, HL7, FHIR).
  • Drive continuous improvement in QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Prepare test documentation and reports for audits, compliance reviews, and executive stakeholders.
  • Mentor and coach QA engineers, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8–12 years of QA experience, with at least 3–5 years in a management or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare systems with emphasis on Medicare/Medicaid programs.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools (Selenium, C#/.NET, or Java) and test management platforms (Jira, TestRail).
  • Proven expertise in defect management — including defect lifecycle, root cause analysis, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with CMS regulations, HIPAA compliance, and healthcare data standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ETL/data warehouse testing and healthcare analytics.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of performance and security testing in healthcare applications.
  • Background in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
