Apex Systems is actively hiring for a Renewable Energy Innovation Project Engineer role with a Fortune 200 Renewable Energy Client!
This position is designated as hybrid, with candidates working in Juno Beach, Florida

Position: Renewable Energy Innovation Project Engineer
Location: Juno Beach, FL
Purpose: This contractor will primarily be responsible for engineering and project management for new Renewable Energy Projects.
Experience: 3+ years of relatable professional experience in engineering, consulting, or project management preferred.
Hours: M-F, 40 hours per week. Possibility of OT with permission. Travel of 10% would consist of training, meetings or site visits.
Length of Assignment: 12 month contract + potential extension or conversion

- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
- 3+ years of experience managing engineering projects from design to implementation
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional project teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders
- Strong project management fundamentals including scope, schedule, budget, and risk management
- Understanding of engineering design processes, technical specifications, and implementation challenges
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- A sense of ownership and accountability for project outcomes
- Intellectually curious individual who is enthusiastic about problem solving and creative thinking
- A detail-oriented person with due diligence and research skills
- Comfortable with fast-paced and constantly evolving environments
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Solar PV and/or Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects or other Power generation systems
- Knowledge of project valuation methodologies and financial metrics (NPV, IRR, LCOE)
- Understanding of utility-scale energy project development
- Experience with data analysis and analytics is preferred
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage engineering projects from conceptual design through commissioning and implementation
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to identify product improvements or cost reduction ideas
- Support implementation by providing technical input and project feasibility assessments
- Lead project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation activities
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure project deliverables
- Develop and maintain project documentation, reports, and stakeholder communications
- Attend industry conferences and network with suppliers and vendors
- Provide input on process improvements and best practices for project delivery
