Job Role: Risk Analyst
Location: Reston, VA - 3 days Hybrid
Duration: 12 Months
Job Description
The Risk Analyst is responsible for analyzing and conducting risk assessments as they apply to the functional requirements for internal software applications, tools, and platforms. The candidate works directly with internal customers to understand and assess the risk environment and the need to mitigate risk for applications and tools, identifying relevant design, process, and specification issues. They mentor and assist lower-level Analysts in documenting and translating these into systems requirements. The candidate may be required to manage business and/or system issues during the project life cycle as well as post-implementation.
Technical Skills:
1. Expertise with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
2. Strong oral and written communication skills.
3. In-depth knowledge of client-server, object-oriented, and web-based systems, applications, environments, and relevant tools/technology.
4. Prior management experience.
5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and evaluate multiple solutions and guide teams toward optimal functional requirements.
6. Knowledge of requirements tools such as Rational Requisite Pro (desired)
7. Sponsor Risk-Specific Skills:
Experience assessing counterparty risk, including sponsor financial strength, track record, and governance
Familiarity with multifamily underwriting and sponsor due diligence processes
Ability to interpret sponsor financial statements and capital structures
Understanding of sponsor risk scoring models and risk rating frameworks
Experience with risk mitigation strategies such as guarantees, reserves, and covenants
Proficiency in analyzing sponsor performance trends and portfolio exposure.
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance considerations related to sponsor risk.
Education/Work Experience:
Bachelor s degree or equivalent
10+ years of software development experience with projects of similar scope and complexity.
