SAP CO Consultant with Product costing (PC) & Project costing & reporting

Location: Remote with minimal travel to Peabody, MA. Travel for 1st week of hire and then only once per month or every other month after. All travel related expenses will be covered by the client. Do not include in rate.

The client is located in Peabody, MA with travel 1-2 times per month to start out, which would transition to more remote flexibility once they get established. The client doesn't want to pay for West Coast or MST based candidates travel...keep them East Coast and preferably north of DC.

Duration: 4 Months+ (Until 12/31/25)

** Need candidates based in New England area (MA, CT, RI, NH, ME, VT states)

Hiring Manager Feedback:

Candidates have been lacking hands on configuration and Project Costing experience. As conversations have taken place, experience with Project Module is more and more important.
***Must be more on the senior side to hit the ground running

Key skills:

  • SAP Projects Module experience (setup of project networks, results analysis, billing plans, etc.).
  • FI/CO exposure (more CO-focused; FI secondary).
  • Even has part time availability, ie. 4 hours a day. Would prefer full, but open to partial.

Must HAVE experience with:

  • Finance background (FI/CO); more than AP / AR
  • Hands on configuration
  • SAP Project Module; including Project Costing & Reporting
  • SAP Product Costing

Job Overview

The SAP FICO and Projects Analyst will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting SAP FICO and Projects modules. This role involves working closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, provide expert guidance, and ensure the successful delivery of SAP solutions that meet business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and configuration of SAP FICO modules, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), Controlling (CO), and Internal Orders/Projects modules.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance, ensuring system stability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to modules on time.
  • Manage SAP-related projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time within scope and budget.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document business requirements. Conduct gap analysis and propose solutions to address business needs.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications for configurations and development.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for end-users and key stakeholders on functionalities and best practices.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including user manuals, process flows, and configuration guides.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements within the SAP landscape.
  • Stay updated with the latest SAP trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure the organization remains competitive.

Job Requirements

  • 8+ years of SAP experience in the FICO module.
  • Experience in the SAP Projects module.
  • Experience in ERP implementation, configuration, development, and support.
  • Hands-on experience with function modules, enhancement, and exits.
  • Experience in SAP S/4HANA is a plus.
  • Experience in working with BI and data warehouse tools is a plus.
  • Prior Project Management experience is a big plus.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and user training skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop efficient, effective, and out of the box solutions.
  • Team player, interpersonal and negotiation skills, and ability to influence others.
  • Energetic and highly customer service-oriented with a great attitude.
